Harmony, Fellowship, and Fun at Timpoochee 2025

Earlier this month, members of The Capital Chordsmen spent the weekend at Camp Timpoochee for the annual Joe Breedon Panhandle Music Festival - a highlight of our barbershop calendar and one of the most energizing weekends of the year.

For those unfamiliar, Timpoochee brings together barbershoppers from across the panhandle for a weekend of singing, learning, and fellowship. It’s a time to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate the joy of ringing chords together from morning till night.

This year’s retreat was packed with coaching sessions, tag singing, and performances from quartets and choruses throughout North Florida and Alabama. The Capital Chordsmen received valuable feedback from experienced coaches Cindy Hansen Ellis and Dave Ellis, whose experience, insight and enthusiasm helped us focus on what makes our chorus unique.

In between rehearsals and coaching, there was plenty of time for spontaneous singing - around the campfire, in the dining hall, and under the stars. For many of us, those informal ringing sessions are what make Timpoochee so much fun. It’s where the barbershop spirit truly shines: friendship, laughter, and harmony shared freely.

We also made sure to capture some photos and video throughout the weekend - of our performances, quartets, and those unforgettable tag sessions. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for clips and pictures in the coming weeks!

Weekends like this remind us why we sing: not just for applause, but for connection - with music, with each other, and with our community.
